Remade Scotland funded for a further 3 yearsThe Scottish Government has engaged the Centre to deliver the Remade Scotland Programme for a further 3 years. Promoting Sustainability to the Construction Sector
A major programme to assist construction companies become more competitive is now complete. Over the past three years we have worked with several hundred companies in the construction sector, identifying opportunities where a competitive advantage could be achieved by promoting environmental credentials. We have provided carbon footprints, environmental policies, site waste management plans and even provided website development support. The programme was supported by the Scottish Government through the SEEKIT Programme and European Funding through ERDF. More details, including supporting resources can be found on our web site. CEC Director joins Zero Waste Think Tank
Prof Jim Baird has been invited onto the Cabinet Secretary's Zero Waste Think Tank. The group has been tasked to bring forward ideas on how Scotland can move away from a waste society to one which sees waste as a resource with inherent value. He also made a presentation on the future challeneges of waste, to the Scottish Parliament Committee on Rural Affairs and Environment in June.
